The ISD also has missile and torpedo batteries and carries bombers. They do not project beams or travel at the speed of light. Turbolasers are clearly not lasers despite the name. In all situations, Empire tech falls short every time to Fed gear. So we have ST Shields (limited) > Phasers > Lasers > SW shields. Seeing as the shields in Star Trek actually stopped the more powerful Phaser fire until failure. So, we have Phasers > Lasers > Star War shields. And of all the star wars battles, seems the best they had were deflector shields that were easily pierced with lasers. Federation is going to get smoked by turbolaser batteries or by the multiple squadrons of TIE fighters and bombers carried by the ISD.There's a Star Trek episode joking about a ship with lasers. Beaming is not happening when both ships have shields.
